Holly and Chris went all out for their wedding at Wynyard Hall with no detail spared. It was a feast for the eyes, with stunning florals, jaw-dropping wedding breakfast tables, and a wedding cake that was a piece of art. Holly looked beautiful in her fit and flare, off the shoulder wedding dress, long veil and vintage hair comb, and Chris looked smart as a dart in his tailored navy suit and champagne tie. The day started out fairly overcast but the sun came out as they left the chapel, and they and their guests enjoyed their drinks reception outside on the hall’s extensive terrace overlooking the lake. After some fabulous speeches and their lavish wedding breakfast, the conservatory was quickly transformed for their evening reception, perfect for dancing the night away!
Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle - Ruth and Scott
In August, we saw ourselves in the heart of Durham, to photograph Ruth and Scott’s wedding day at Durham Cathedral. Originally from the North East, Ruth and her Canadian groom Scott moved to Luxemburg some time ago but came back to the UK to marry in the iconic building that was so close to her heart. Their ceremony was stunning, their family and friends seated in the choir, with the general public watching from the nave as they gave their vows. After the ceremony, with huge smiles on their faces, Ruth and Scott hurried the short distance from the Cathedral to Durham Castle - rain was pouring down but it did not dampen their spirits in the slightest. They were met by their guests with confetti in hand for a fabulous arrival at the castle. Their grand wedding breakfast in the great hall was followed by a stroll around the castle and cathedral grounds for a few pictures, then a fantastic Cèilidh.
South Causey Inn - Kate and Stephen
“Thank you both so much for our photographs. They are absolutely perfect and really capture every moment of the day. We couldn't be any happier! Our album is amazing. We can't stop looking through it. We have it as a decoration to show everyone that comes in our house.”
I knew from the moment that we first met Kate and her family at a wedding fair that we would be a great fit for one another. We clicked straight away and on the big day, we had so much fun together. Kate and Stephen were married at the end of July at the South Causey Inn in County Durham. Kate looked a vision in her romantic a-line wedding gown, I adored the combination of the reds and pinks in the bridesmaid’s dresses and florals, and the lads looked fab in their navy tweed suits. While the weather wasn’t playing ball, we managed to dodge (most of) the raindrops and captured some lovely pictures of the happy couple outdoors. It was a gorgeous wedding with a wonderful couple and their awesome family and friends.
Newton Hall - Abbie and Stephen
“Stephen and I just wanted to drop you a quick message to say the biggest THANK YOU ever!!! We honestly are so grateful, you both made our day. We felt so comfortable the whole day and the day would have never been the same without you both. Everyone commented on how amazing you both were!! The photos are beyond incredible. We can’t thank you both enough for giving us these amazing memories of our big day. All our love, Abbie & Stephen x”
In July, we were back at the fabulous Newton Hall in Northumberland for Abbie and Stephen’s big day. Working alongside Janet and Chris from One Digital Image who were capturing their memories on video. Abbie and Stephen were such a fun couple to work with and happy to go along with any idea that we came up with, including heading out after dinner for a stroll along the beach at high tide. Their day was relaxed and fun and full of vibrant personalities, moments of calm and moments of good old fashioned romance.
